Rorshach's sugar?

In Watchmen, Chapter XI on page 3, there are a few panels showing Rorshach eating a sugar cube, then a large panel at the bottom showing it drifting in the wind as they drove away. I was thinking about it, but I can't really see a significance to the sugar cube? I wouldn't think anything of it, except for it's so prominent in that bottom image. Minor plot point, I know, but any thoughts?

Showing how bitterSWEET life is.

Eh? Eh?

I think it shows how abnormal Rorshach is. The only things he's shown eating are sugar cubes, beans, and stuff at the Gunga Diner. That's a pretty random selection.

Actually, my bittersweet comment still stands. I think Rorshach had a pretty bleak view on life, so his consumption of a sweet substance is a sharp contrast to his personality. Also, he sees himself as one of the only pure souls left in the world, distinct and unadulterated, like sugar cubes.

Interesting thought. Never looked at it that way. Also, Erika, you forgot raw eggs.
Personally, since the wrapper simply blew away because of the wind (an overpowering force), it is a very sly way of foreshadowing; Rorshach will be "blown away" by Veidt's plan.
Or I could have permanently lost my last pinkie-hold on reality, and will spontaneously warp to another dimension soon.
